Surigao Del Norte

The province has one of the Philippines’ ethnic tribes-the Mamanwas.  Surigao City’s Bonok-Bonok Festival depicts

 the merry making of these native folks as sign of gratitude to their pagan gods for a bountiful harvest and good health.
